The Baking Cafe’s Story
The Baking Cafe opened as a retail bakery on 10th July 2009 in Duncan Village, San Fernando.
Its Vision is” to establish itself as the leading Contemporary Premium Bakery in Trinidad and Tobago, entering into the Caribbean markets by year 2018”. With a Mission of pro-actively satisfying customers’ needs and consistently providing freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries at competitive prices.
Our main objectives are as follows:
• To create a friendly environment that encourages close customer relations.
• To create an environment that encourages continuous learning at all levels.
• Ability to be flexible in meeting customers’ preference with respect to all products.
• To incorporate proven baking methods that will maximise yield from raw materials and minimise wastage.
• To comply with all Health & Safety regulations.
• To provide a collaborative approach amongst staff, enabling knowledge sharing across all functions.
Got a sweet tooth? Or a simple desire for a difference? The Baking Cafe may be that place for you. We pride ourselves in offering only fresh goods, (goods sold were baked that same day). The Baking Cafe offers, but is not limited to, day to day standard bakery items which include: bread, bakes, cakes, puffs, pastries, cookies etc. Offering timely, tasty, fresh snack plates, whole cakes and much more for various occasions such as plant shut downs, executive meetings, staff meetings, thanksgivings, birthday parties etc.
The Baking Cafe has certainly captured the hearts of the people of Duncan Village and its environs with a large turnout of supporters for its Grand Opening on 10th July 2009. One lucky customer won a fully decorated cake. Others were given samples of The Baking Cafe’s delicious products while others won t-shirts and other promotional items for keeping the spirit alive by dancing to the songs of the late Michael Jackson. Bico Icecream and Ultra Malt were present giving away samples to The Baking Cafe customers.
The people behind The Baking Cafe are too numerous to mention but the forefront driver always had a keen interest in baking since the age of nine (9). As such, she has perfected the art of baking and decorating of all different types of specialty cakes (weddings and birthdays). She has extensive experience in sales, marketing and management, earning an International Masters Degree in Business Administration (IMBA) specializing in innovation & entrepreneurship. She was both Local and Export Sales Manager with an Industrial Gases firm for approximately five years and Export Sales Manager at a Milling Company for just over one (1) year.
